This website, the Ashford Borough Council website, was
relaunched in April 2007.
This website has evolved over time by using best practice
examples and adhering to eGovernment targets.
We aim to give you a high quality accessible website that provides services
online.
In order to reach this aim we have implemented a set of website
standards which those creating content are asked to abide by. This
ensures that content across the site adheres to a consistent style
and is easy to read.
Creating a Consistent Website
Our website has been developed with the needs of the visitor in
mind and we seek to make improvements to the look and feel and the
site structure through gathering feedback and carrying out user
testing and analysing our statistics.
The design and structure of our website has been put together to
help you find information quickly and easily without having to
worry about our departmental structure. We have based our structure
on best practice examples.

content, ensuring that the information we offer is accurate and up
to date.

We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of

WAI AAA ratings for accessibility and are
CSS and XHTML 1.0 transitional rated. We use a Content Management
System that ensures our website maintains these standards. We have
processes in place to regularly test the site for integrity, broken
links and general errors and monitor our website for
availability to achieve our aim of 24/7 access to our services.
