Black and Minority Ethnic Communities
Ashford's population is growing and alongside it, so is
Ashford's cultural diversity.
Ashford is home to a number of ethnic communities including,
among others, Gurkhas, Asians, Kurds, Zimbabwean, Chinese, Sri
Lankan and Eastern European. Some of these groups are
based at International House and have formed Ashford International
Association with the support of Ashford
Community Network. Ashford Borough Council is working with
other public and voluntary sector partners to ensure public
services are accessible to all local
residents including the borough's black and minority
ethnic communities.
Ashford Diversity Forum
Ashford Diversity Forum brings together local ethnic and other
minority community leaders together with local statutory and
voluntary agencies including Ashford Borough Council. It
meets up to six times a year and is hosted and chaired by
Ashford Police. The Forum is no longer live but for further
