Black and Minority Ethnic Communities
Ashford's population is growing and alongside it, so is
Ashford's cultural diversity.
Ashford is home to a number of ethnic communities including,
among others, Gurkhas, Asians, Kurds, Zimbabwean, Chinese, Sri
Lankan and Eastern European. Many of these groups are
based at International House and have formed Ashford International
Association with the support of Ashford
Community Network. Ashford Borough Council is
working with other public and voluntary sector partners to ensure
public services are accessible to all local
residents including the borough's black and minority
ethnic communities.
We are also a partner on Ashford's Diversity Forum
chaired by Ashford Police.
