Tracing Families

There are many ways to begin tracing family members or discovering your ancestors. Information is available from Kent County Council, including how to go about searching for records of births, marriages and deaths. Kent County Council also offer an Archives and Local History service.

You can also use the Internet to help search for family and friends.

The National Archives is a useful website to visit as it gives access to the records of the central government of the UK and English law courts. Reference material is indexed with records for parish, town and county records.

Friends Reunited can help you to contact your old school friends or work colleagues and Genes Reunited can help you search for your family.
