Older People
We offer a range of services to ensure a good quality
of life for older people in the borough, operating 13
sheltered
housing units and a free bus passes for
over-60s initiative.
Our 24-hour Telecare service offers peace of mind
and independent living to thousands of elderly, disabled and
vulnerable Ashford residents every day.
Other services for older people, such as residential and
nursing care, respite and day centres, are provided by
Kent
County Council. If you or someone you know is finding it

Retirement
Planning for retirement?
Direct.gov has Government advice on all aspects of pensions and
retirements. And if you are looking for ways to enjoy a bit
more time for yourself, why not have a look at walks, sports or allotments within the borough?

Stay Active
Alongside activities such as walking or sport, the Stour Centre offers some
excellent classes several times a week as part of their
active for life programme. They also provide assessment
and recommendation as part of the health services
exercise on referral scheme.
