Grants and Funding
FUNDING & SUPPORT FOR VOLUNTARY &
COMMUNITY ORGANISATIONS
Funding Policy 2010-2013
Ashford Borough Council's new Policy for
Funding & Support of Voluntary and Community Organisations
came into effect on 1 April 2010. The Policy is the
result of extensive local consultation and we have
written to thank everyone who took the time to give us their
views.
Single Grants Gateway
The Policy is accompanied by a
one-stop scheme known as the Single Grants Gateway,
through which all applications from voluntary and community
organisations for Ashford Borough Council funding for the year
2011-2012 and onwards are made. There is a single
point of entry to the Council for applications and an officer
responsible for liaising with applicants and acting as their point
of contact throughout. Her contacts are given below.
The Grants Gateway scheme is linked to specific
funding priorities relevant
to the Council's Business Plan,
and comprises a mix of funding arrangements to allow best fit
with the project or service in question, and a proportionate
application and monitoring processes. The scheme will
ensure that we and the
applicant both understand the positive local impact
and benefits of the Council's funding and support.

Interest followed by full application. All applicants must
first complete an Expression of Interest. You
should complete a full application form only if you have
previously submitted an Expression of Interest and received written
approval from us to proceed.
Grants Gateway Guidance Notes
It is important that you read the Single Grants Gateway
Guidance Notes carefully before you complete an
application form. They will help you to decide if you are eligible
to apply to the scheme and which forms you need. They will also
tell you about our funding priorities and conditions of
