We hold elections for the borough council every four years, most recently in May 2007.

We also organise and run Parliamentary, European Parliamentary and Kent County Council Elections and we would be required to administer any referendum or Parish Polls that are called.

Electoral Services deal with voter registration, postal and proxy vote applications and the issue of postal ballot papers at election times.

UK Parliamentary elections would have to be held before May 2010 although the Government can call an election at any time. Once we have received the Writ from Parliament informing us of the election date there would only be 17 days to polling day from when we publish the Notice of Election. Your current MP is Mr Damian Green.
