Biography
Cllr. Davison has lived in Orlestone since
childhood, and currently with his wife and son. He has spent
his professional life in the Steel and Engineering industries with
American, French and mainly English companies. For many years
travelling the world for this work.
He agreed to stand for the Borough Council
just over 8 years ago as neighbours asked him to represent them
through the difficult times of Ashford development to come.
Cllr Davison became an Independent Councillor after a few years as
he believes that local government should be free from Party
Politics.
Cllr. Davison has been a Parochial Councillor,
Chairman of Governors at Ham Street Primary School, a Friend of St
Mary’s Orlestone, Chairman of the Julie Rose Stadium Co, and a
member of the Romney Marsh Internal Drainage Board. At
Ashford Borough Council he has been and is on a number of
committees. He has been Chairman of Planning and currently
chairs the Overview and Scrutiny Committee, Services and
Partnerships. He is fortunate to have five Parishes in his
Ward, as it takes him around some of Kent’s most beautiful
countryside when attending Parish Councils and discussing a huge
range of matters with residents on issues ranging from Highways to
Crime prevention.
His private interests are his family, sport,
particularly water sports, gardening, travel, local history, and
the Kent countryside and wildlife habitat.
