FireworkThe Police have new powers under the Firework Regulations 2004 to deal with people who are irresponsible with fireworks.   The regulations prevent anyone under the age of 18 from possessing fireworks and anyone except professionals from possessing display fireworks.  They also prohibit use of fireworks between 11pm and 7am in England and Wales with extensions for the time listed below:

Bonfire Night November 5th Until 12 midnight
Diwali   Until 1am
New Years Eve December 31st Until 1am
Chinese New Year   Until 1am

To take enforcement action the Police will need to know who the culprits are and where the fireworks are being let off in breach of the curfew. You will probably have to give a statement. There is a penalty of £5000 or 6 months in prison for breaching the curfew.
