Residents in the Musgrave Road area of Ashford are being thanked for their part in helping to get a ‘crack house’ closed. Kent police and Ashford Borough Council’s Housing Service applied to shut the top floor flat in Musgrave Road using a Crack House Closure Order, the first to be made in the town.

Ashford’s pioneering shared space system has succeeded in cutting traffic speeds and driving up road safety standards, according to a new report.

Ashford Borough Council has successfully evicted two tenants on the grounds of antisocial behaviour. The Council’s Housing Service has been working closely with Kent Police and local residents to gather evidence and prepare cases which have resulted in the two evictions in Newtown Green and Bond Road, Ashford.

A new look information portal has been launched to help residents find out information on planning applications more easily. Residents can now find information more quickly thanks to a new layout and users can utilise the Council’s geographical information system (GIS) to search for a whole range of information using a handy interactive map.

Local businesses can now save time and money while helping the environment, thanks to a handy toolkit. The free ‘Business Recycling Toolkit’ provides businesses in Ashford that want to change the way they deal with their waste practical help and advice to make a difference to the environment and their bottom line.
