New performances announced at St Mary's Church
Tickets are now on sale for the spectacular second
season of music and entertainment at St Mary’s Church, Ashford.
The Lightning Seeds lead an impressive line up
of folk, jazz and cinematic excellence in the Revelation St Mary’s
spring 2012 programme.
One of the nation’s best loved Britpop bands,
The Lightning Seeds will perform in Ashford on Tuesday
21st February as part of their new UK tour.
The award-winning Aurora Orchestra will also be making a welcome
return to the church on Saturday 10th March ahead of
their upcoming live broadcast on BBC Radio 3.
Former Steeleye Span vocalist and all round folk legend Maddy Prior
appears on Wednesday 28th March, and one of the
country’s most gifted jazz singers Claire Martin OBE performs with
her jazz trio on Thursday 19th April.
The season ends on Saturday 23rd June with stunning live
animation, magic, puppet show, and music with The Paper Cinema
Creative director of the Revelation St Mary’s programme Anna
Moulson said: “We were thrilled with sales for our first season at
St Mary’s, and are equally delighted that the venue has attracted
interest from such well-respected and popular artists.
“The venue’s reputation as a high quality
performance space is spreading, and we know its programmes will go
from strength to strength.”
