Tuesday 24 August | New planning portal launched

A new look information portal has been launched to help residents find out information on planning applications more easily. Residents can now find information more quickly thanks to a new layout and users can utilise the Council’s geographical information system (GIS) to search for a whole range of information using a handy interactive map.

Tuesday 24 August | Businesses receive waste tips

Local businesses can now save time and money while helping the environment, thanks to a handy toolkit. The free ‘Business Recycling Toolkit’ provides businesses in Ashford that want to change the way they deal with their waste practical help and advice to make a difference to the environment and their bottom line.

Monday 16 August | £4.2m boost to growth plans

Residents will soon benefit from a flexible arts space in the centre of town and a new look station forecourt following the announcement the Government has released £4.2m Growth Area Funding (GAF) for 2010-2011.

Tuesday 27 July | 11,000 visit Create 2010

This year’s Create Festival has broken all previous records with an amazing 11,000 people attending the free music extravaganza throughout the day. The event, organised by Ashford Borough Council and supported by a host of local businesses, is now in its 15th year and is fast becoming one of the biggest free music festivals in the South East.

Monday 26 July | Works will keep Ashford moving

Representatives from Ashford’s Future, Kent County Council, Ashford Borough Council, BAM Nuttall, SEEDA and the Homes and Communities Agency were among the special guests invited to an event celebrating the start of works on Junction 9 of the M20 and nearby Drovers Roundabout.

Friday 23 July | Create Festival gears up for its biggest year yet!

Ashford’s outstanding free music festival takes place on Sunday (25th July), and is gearing up for its best turnout yet. The festival in Victoria Park is expected to attract more than 5,000 people through the day, making Create one of the biggest free music festivals in the South East.
