Ashford Excellence Awards
Architects, developers and
builders working in the Borough of Ashford are being invited to
take part in the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) '2008
Ashford Building Excellence Awards'.
The awards scheme highlights the importance of Building Control
in achieving high standards and gives well deserved recognition to
companies and individuals within the construction industry who are
committed to producing high quality buildings throughout the
Borough of Ashford.
The LABC Building Excellence Award recognises and rewards the most
forward thinking people and organisations and the most innovative
construction projects completed over the last year.
Building owners, architects, contractors or Building Control
surveyors can all submit nominations and award categories
range from small domestic projects through housing
developments to commercial projects.
All the work must be within the Borough of Ashford and must have
been inspected by a Local Authority Building Control Surveyor.
The award ceremony will be held at the Civic Centre, Ashford on
Thursday 4th December 2008 commencing at 6pm, where the winners
will be presented with their certificates and trophies. The closing
date for entries is Friday 17th October 2008.
The categories include:
- Best Small Domestic Project
- Best Conversion
- Best Housing - small developer or
development, 1 - 10 units
- Best Housing - large developer or
development, 11 + units
- Best Social or Affordable Housing
Development
- Best Healthcare Building
- Best Educational Building
- Best Commercial Building up to £1
million
- Best Commercial Building over £1 million
- Best Sustainable Project
There are two methods of entering the awards
either electronically (preferred method) or by hard copy. All
completed forms and supporting material should be sent to Ashford
Borough Council Building Control Offices for endorsement.
The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will
be entered into.
