Stour Valley Arts

Score for a Hole in the Ground Since 1994, Stour Valley Arts at King's Wood, Ashford has commissioned artists to make sculptures within the forest and also other kinds of artworks.  Their latest piece is Jem Finer's 'Score for a hole in the groud', is now a multi-award winning sculpture.

Stour Valley Arts is supported by Ashford Borough Council and Arts Council England.  Joint projects include giving students the opportunity to create a piece of public art in Ashford town centre.

On Saturday 16 September 2006, the Mayor of Ashford launched the winning student temporary public art bursaries.  A crowd of hundreds, including delegates from the Ashford Civic Twin Towns of Fougeres and Bad Munstereifel welcomed Kamilla Sztyber’s and Christine Lobb’s site-specific pieces in Memorial Gardens.
