Natural Beauty Spots
The Warren, AshfordAshford has a wealth of natural heritage waiting to be explored. It offers everything from the protected Walland Marsh to the rural countryside of the Kent Downs, an area of outstanding natural beauty and places such as Kings Wood, a focal point for art and sculpture.

Green spaces are incredibly important, providing a huge range of benefits including wildlife conservation, recreational space, leisure activities, education and cultural experiences.

Some places in England are considered so important to the nation's natural heritage that they are notified as Sites of Special Scientific Interest because of their flora, fauna, geological or geographical features. View our Sites of Special Scientific Interest webpage for more information.

Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB)

Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) have been described as the jewels of the English landscape.  There are 36 in all, covering about 15% of England. We are lucky enough to have two in the Borough.
