Warehorne

WarehorneWarehorne village on the edge of Romney Marsh is divided into three parts - one at the Leacon, by the old school and Leacon Hall, which is a good example of a Queen Anne House, another part round the village green, church and pub and the third part running down to Bluebell Cottages. The church is partly 13th century with an 18th century brick tower. A three mile stretch of the Royal Military Canal, part of which is owned by the National Trust, runs from Warehorne to Appledore. Much of the parish land is administered by the Forestry Commission, which provides parking facilities, picnic areas and marked pathways.
