If you want to run a boarding kennel or a cattery you need to apply for a licence [pdf] 73KB and pay the fee [pdf] 93KB. The number of dogs and/or cats that can be boarded will be specified on the licence.
The aim of the licence is to achieve certain standards in the management of the accommodation and to ensure precautions against disease and fire. This is done by attaching relevant conditions to the licence [pdf] 70KB to ensure that animals are kept in suitable accommodation.
