Telecare
Ashford Telecare (Lifeline) is a computerised alert system
that provides independent living and safe working.
Thousands of people can benefit from Telecare technology from
the elderly, infirm and vulnerable, to lone workers, child minders
and young people out on their own.
Telecare positively improves lives by allowing people to live
independently in their own homes with the reassurance that help is
at hand at the touch of a button.
How It Works
All monitors, detectors and alarms are linked directly to
Ashford Borough Council’s 24-hours Monitoring Centre, where trained
staff are ready to deal with any situation.
Users are issued with a unit which plugs into mains power and
the phone point.
The basic package consists of a pendant panic button but there
are many add on sensors that can be easily fitted, including:
- Smoke alarm
- Bogus caller alert
- Intruder alarm
- Flood detector
We can demonstrate and supply any sensor without obligation.
So Much More Than a Panic Button
Telecare also offers a computerised Lone Worker system, which
uses the client’s mobile telephone. This service offers security
for employees working alone in vulnerable situations and
peace-of-mind to employers.
Lone Worker can also benefit other vulnerable people including
young teenagers.
Telecare can be used in offices, schools, and care homes, GP
surgeries and households.
