CCTV
The Ashford Monitoring Centre is a fully operational 24 hours a
day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks of the year Monitoring Centre. We are
a self-contained unit. Our own Monitoring Centre is situated in a
secure environment and access to the centre is restricted at all
times. All calls to the Monitoring Centre are recorded.
The Monitoring Centre monitors the following:
- Social Alarms (Telecare/Lifeline)
- Intruder Alarms
- CCTV incorporating the Town Net Radio, as well as the Police
Radio
- Ashford Borough Council’s ‘Out Of Hours’ emergency telephone
number
- Remote CCTV
Social Alarms
We have the latest technology available within the Monitoring
Centre, which gives us the ability to monitor all up to date
packages, such as bogus callers, wandering clients, fall detectors,
carbon monoxide detector, and many more. We also monitor the
standard pendants and smoke detectors The Social Alarms are not
just for the elderly but can be for a variety of ages and needs,
from domestic violence, lone person protector to medical
monitoring. We offer a rental package or if the client wishes they
can buy the unit and just pay a monitoring fee.
Intruder Alarms
We monitor Personal Attack and Intruder Alarms in Rail
Stations as well as commercial and residential properties
throughout London and the South East. For this system Ashford
Monitoring Centre holds “Gold Standard” NSI (formally NACOSS)
accreditation on Intruder Alarms and access control.
CCTV
We have 92 cameras within the borough covering the Civic and
Stour Centre Ashford Town, Tenterden, Aylesford Subway, Julie Rose
Stadium, Stanhope and Kennington. The CCTV system also incorporates
the Town Net Radio, which is a group of shops, shopping centres,
public houses and members of our own staff that can call into the
Monitoring Centre (Town Control) if they need assistance of any
sort. We in turn have access to a Police radio and our own unique
call sign to contact the Police at a moment's notice if the need
arises. There is a team of “Lay Visitors” who attend the Centre and
audit all area’s of the operation. All staff are fully SIA
licensed.
Out of Hours Duty Officer
The Monitoring Centre covers all emergency out of hours calls to
the Council; this can range from a homeless individual, no hot
water, and noise complaints to road traffic accidents.
Remote CCTV
We have recently installed Remote CCTV into the Centre; this
system has the ability to monitor areas as and when required in the
short term or as a permanent fixture.
There is a team of dedicated operators based within the Centre
and a team of office-based staff supports them. An “On Call
Officer” who is available 24 hours a day backs up the operators.
All systems within the Monitoring Centre use the latest technology
for the safety of our community and beyond. Systems are monitored
under the strictest guidelines and regulations.
