Housing Allocations (Lettings) Policy
Housing's Lettings Policy
This is the Lettings Policy that Ashford Borough Council
has adopted for the allocation of void Ashford Borough Council and
Housing Association stock which are advertised as part of our
Choice Based Lettings Scheme. The document sets out the
criteria under which Ashford Borough Council allocates it's vacant
properties and details how points are awarded to those on the
housing register.
Key Objective (KO)
- To set out clear and transparent policies via which Ashford
Borough Council's void properties are let.
Key Measures of Success (KMS)
- Compliance with the requirements of Part VI of the Housing Act
1996 as amended by the Homelessness Act 2002
- To give reasonable preference to applicants as defined within
the aforementioned Housing Acts
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- BV212 - average time taken to relet council dwellings
- BV213 - preventing homelessness
With effect from December 2009 Ashford Borough Council
adopted the following Lettings Policy and every applicant on the
housing register was reassessed in accordance with the policies set
out in this document.
