Private Sector Housing Enforcement Policy
Key Objectives (KOs):
- The consistent enforcement by the Council of legislation in
respect of private sector housing that is either unfit for
habitation or which is in a state of disrepair
Key Measures of Success (KMS):
- Positive working relationships with private sector landlords
and the Council viewed as fair and supportive
- High degree of problem resolution through the use of informal
enforcement approaches
- No charges of maladministration and no procedural failures
identified through the complaints procedures
- High private sector tenant satisfaction rates with the outcomes
of enforcement action

- Enforcement statistics
- Feedback from landlords and tenants
- Complaints procedures monitoring statistics
