Gateway LogoLocal Services under one roof

Ashford Borough Council works with Kent County Council and other partners  to develop innovative methods of service provision for a fast expanding population.

Kent’s Gateway scheme is part of a county-wide initiative that has been running for three years which brings Borough and County council services, health care agencies, voluntary organisations and other local services under one roof.

It also includes a mobile Gateway to make services more accessible in specific communities. It is a great way of bringing local services direct to people and ties in with the aim of providing services to customers in the way that they want to receive them.

People in Ashford and Tenterden can now drop in to their own local Gateways to access a wide range of council, health, voluntary sector and other services and take advantage of free internet access.

The new Ashford Gateway Plus opened in summer 2011 and is located in the centre of the town in Church Road. Visit the Ashford Gateway website for more information.

The Tenterden Gateway also includes a modern and accessible library, post office and tourist information service. Kent Registration will also provide a weekly service enabling people to register births and deaths locally.
