Local Strategic Partnership
The Ashford Partnership
The Ashford Partnership is the district level
Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) for the Ashford borough. The
Partnership Board comprises 20 representatives from the key public,
private, voluntary and community sectors active in Ashford.
The Board meets 5 times a year and is
supported by three themed sub-groups:
- The Community Infrastructure Working Group
- The Community Safety Partnership
- The Health & Well Being Sub-Group
The Partnership was first established in 2002
and prepared its first Community Strategy in 2004. The Community
Strategy sets out a shared vision for Ashford Borough and sets out
the key priorities and projects that the partners have agreed to
work together to deliver. The Strategy was refreshed in October
2008 as the Ashford Sustainable Community Strategy and can be

The Partnership is currently reviewing the
Strategy in the light of the results of the major community
engagement exercise carried out in Ashford during February and
March 2010 (“Have Your Say”), which asked residents and businesses
for their views on local priorities. The Partnership is also
responding to the changes in public sector service delivery and
governance introduced by the Coalition Government from the summer
of 2010.
