Environment
We play an important role in providing a clean, healthy,
safe and sustainable environment for our residents and
visitors.
That involves protecting and preserving our stunning countryside
areas as well as ensuring our built environment is maintained
to high standards. It is our job to make sure the streets are clean
and your rubbish is collected promptly and efficiently.
We are responsible for monitoring air quality, providing
allotments, animal welfare, public toilets, tree preservation and green spaces
including parks and cemeteries.
We monitor the restaurants and cafes where you eat and other
food preparation premises in the borough for hygiene and safety
standards. Environmental pollution such as air, noise and light
comes under our remit and we play an important role in reducing
antisocial behaviour including vandalism, graffiti and
nuisance.
These webpages tell you more about the work we do
to protect the environment and promote the health of the
people who live and work in, or visit, the borough of Ashford.
You can help us improve the environment too,
calculate your carbon footprint, and find out about
greener living.
