Tendering for Services
As previously mentioned, different Service Areas throughout the
Council are responsible for administering various contracts. If you
have agreed to tender for a contract you will be sent the
following:
- A letter of invitation
- Tender Document, which will include various items such as the
Specification.
- Tender return envelope
- The tender documents will need to be completed and returned, in
the tender return envelope provided, by the specified date and
time.
- Tenders are then opened as set out in the Council's Contract
Procedure Rules.
- If the estimated cost is £75,000 or less, the tenders must be
opened by the relevant Service Manager in the presence of a
representative of Legal and Democratic Services.
- When the estimated cost exceeds £75,000 but does not exceed
£200,000, tenders must be opened in the presence of the relevant
Service Manager and a representative of Internal Audit.
- When the estimated cost exceeds £200,000, tenders must be
opened in the presence of the relevant Service Manager, a
representative of Internal Audit and a Member of the Council.
