Kent Homechoice - Choice Based Lettings
Kent Homechoice is the new Choice Based
Lettings scheme for all council and housing association homes in
Kent.
Each fortnight we publish a list of available properties that
enable applicants on our Housing Register to register their choices
for the properties they would like to be considered for. This list
is available on the
Kent Homechoice website on
Fridays from 5pm and a reference copy is available to view at
designated distribution points around Ashford on Mondays.
To apply for Housing within the borough you
would need to complete and return a housing application
form. For further information contact the Housing
Services Team on 01233 330688.
Important Freesheet Changes
The freesheet will no longer be available from the 2nd April
2010. You can still look at the homes list on the Kent Homechoice
Website, and a reference copy will be available at the Civic
Centre, Ashford Gateway and Tenterden Gateway.
You can continue to bid through the internet, by using digital
TV, by phone, by text, by coupon or with the assistance of
staff.
If you think you may experience difficulty with this change
please contact the Housing Services Team on 01233 330688. We will
send you a personalised freesheet if you have no other means to
access the service.

Already a Registered Applicant?
These are the ways you can register your
choices:
You can register up to a maximum of three
property choices and Kent Homechoice offers five ways for you to
register those choices. The closing time and date by which you must
have registered your choices is shown on the Kent Homechoice
website and choices will not be accepted after this time.
Properties are only allocated after the list
has closed. You can help us speed up how quickly we allocate
properties by resisting the urge to phone us and check if you have
been successful. If you are successful we will contact you by the
Friday after the closing date. If we do not contact you by this
time, you will have been unsuccessful on that occasion.
Bidding on the
Web
You can download the fortnightly Kent
Homechoice property list from the website as well as place your
bids online using your unique Kent Homechoice number and your date
of birth. Simply log in and follow the instructions on screen.
Digital TV
You can now bid for homes using your television remote control
if you are a subscriber to Sky, Virgin Media (previously
Telewest/NTL) or if you have an interactive Freeview box such as BT
vision.
Bidding by
telephone
By telephone – call 0906 294 0020 and follow the instructions.
Calls cost 25p/minute.

text

complete your bidding by text.
Bidding by
coupon
By coupon - When you are first registered we will send blank
coupons with your registration pack.
