Applying for a Council Home
If you live or work within the Borough and you have a housing need that you can not meet from your own resources and if your current home doesn't meet your housing requirements then your circumstances may mean that you should apply to go on the Council's housing register.

To apply for Housing within the borough you would need to complete and return a Choice Based Lettings Housing Application Form 923Kb PDF. The application form can be obtained in person at the Civic Centre or at the Ashford Gateway Centre. Alternatively, you can contact our Housing Services Team on 01233 330688 and make a request for a form to be posted to you.

You should then bring your completed application form along with all supporting documentation to one of our drop in sessions.

The sessions are held between 10am and 12 noon on a Tuesday and Friday and you will be able to see a Lettings Officer who will check your application and make an assessment of your eligibility. You will also be given an indication of timescales for receiving an offer of a property based upon you bidding for appropriate properties on our Choice Based Lettings Scheme.
