Ashford Borough Council works closely with housing associations and private sector landlords to ensure high standards in privately rented accommodation.

We have extensive powers and responsibilities to ensure that individually occupied properties, family occupied properties and houses in multiple occupation (HMOs) meet required standards. 

The authority also has powers to take action to bring empty homes back into residential use to increase the supply of privately rented homes.
