Sheltered Housing

We own and manage approximately 420 sheltered housing dwellings in 12 schemes throughout the Borough. In addition to this there are a further 720 or so “haven” bungalows, all with a social alarm system available if requested.

In each case dwellings are for people over 50 years of age.

The following link gives more details about our sheltered housing service, with information on each of our schemes and the service provided by our team of Scheme Managers.

Communal Heating Charges

We base our communal heating charges on the actual heating and lighting costs for each individual Sheltered Scheme. The cost for each scheme are then apportioned equally amongst its residents and charged as a weekly amount in addition to the rent and other service charges. The charges are based on the costs incurred in the previous year.
