Urban Community Forums in Ashford

Community Forum MapOn 20 March 2002 the Executive agreed to establish community forums in the urban areas of Ashford. The aim was to give town centre residents a structure within which they could formally express their views and ideas on important issues, and take forward community projects benefiting their area.

There are four urban community forums covering Ashford town:

Each has its own steering group/ trustees and holds public meetings open to individuals living and working within its geographic boundaries (see map).

Each, whilst independent of the Council, is supported by a different council officer.

The urban community forums are considering the pros and cons of becoming parish councils and the council will be consulting town centre residents on this issue during 2008.

View the forum webpages above for further information and contact details.
