Willesborough

Willesborough Community Forum is an open forum set up to represent the views of people living and working in Willesborough and to help communicate those views to Ashford Borough Council and other statutory organisations.

Willesborough Community Forum is an independent voluntary group with its own constitution.

Willesborough Community Forum is led by a Steering Group comprising the Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, the five Ward Councilors, and six other members. The forum is also supported by an officer from Ashford Borough Council.

Our Meetings

Anybody living or working in the Willesborough Community Forum Area can attend any of the meetings or become involved in the Forum. The Forum is always looking for people to join them, and is happy to see new people at their meetings.

The Forum Steering Group usually meets four times a year at Hythe Road Baptist Church at 7.30pm. The next Steering Group meeting is on Wednesday 25 April 2012.

In addition they hold four Open Meetings a year on a range of topics of interest to the residents of Willesborough, with relevant speakers. The next Open Meeting is taking place at the Hythe Road Baptist Church at 7.30pm on Wednesday 28 March 12. The speakers at this meeting will be Cllr Aline Hicks who will give a presentation on localism.

Immediatley prior to the meeting, from 6.45pm,  local ward members will be holding a 'councillors clinic' to respond to individual queries from residents.

The Forum holds an Annual General Meeting where officers of the Steering Group are appointed and any changes to the constitution can be made.

If you have any local issues that you have been unable to resolve, they can help you speak to the right person.

Any person living or working within the Willesborough Community Forum area can report observations to the Willesborough Community Forum Steering Group.

These observation may be concerns, complaints, suggestions or praise on any aspect to do with the general well being of the Willesborough Community Forum area. Email philippa.dale@ashford.gov.uk to receive observation forms.

Current Project

The Forum has received funding to trial an Incident Reporting system in identified areas of Willesborough by issuing incident report questionnaires which residents can complete if they experience any problems or anti-social behavior. This does not replace police or council responsibility, but will help the Forum build a picture of problem areas. If you would like to see the Incident Report it can be downloaded here.
