Biography
Councillor Wedgbury has been a fireman since
1984 and during this time has attended a huge variety of incidents,
ranging from rescuing an iguana from a roof, being the first
responder to an IRA bomb, rescuing a child stuck in railings to
serious fires and road accidents.
He is married with two children and enjoys
participating in many sports including rugby and football and has
recently taken up and gained his orange belt in Washinkai
Karate.
Councillor Wedgbury represents Park Farm South
Ward on both the Borough and Parish Councils. He views his role as
setting policies to provide services and facilities for the
community that would otherwise be unavailable to many if they were
not provided out of general taxation whilst at the same time
providing value for money without excessive tax.
He is proud to be the Vice-Chairman of the
Planning Committee and the Chairman of the Nature Conservation
Forum and believes that his skills and experiences as a fireman
assist him to make decisions that are in the best interests of the
community.
Councillor Wedgbury welcomes and actively
invites residents views, ideas and suggestions relating to Park
Farm. One such suggestion received to date was a safe cycle route
to the town centre.
