Allotments

AllotmentAs part of our approach to healthy living, we have a number of allotment sites with over 400 plots throughout Ashford that residents are encouraged to make use of.  The cost of a full plot (250 square metres) is currently £38.00 per year, we offer free use of allotments to residents claiming certain types of benefit and for those residents in receipt of state pensions. All our allotment sites have water points.

Due to the current interest in allotments and people's busy lifestyles, new allotment tenants are being offered half plots (125 square metres) which are a more managable size.  We are also in the process of adding additional plots to the Gas House Fields Site. If you would like an allotment you will need to be added to the waiting list.

To help allotment holders to gain the most from their plot, the Allotment Forum runs a seed shed from their Westrees Site which offers a wide range of products at discounted prices.

The Allotment Forum holds regular meetings to discuss allotment matters, each site is able to have a site representative who speaks on behalf of their site.  Allotment tenants are welcome to attend these meetings to listen and observe, although they are not able to participate in the meeting.

To discuss matters relating to allotments, please email Julie Thomas.
