Council Owned Trees
Our Environmental Services Green Team has responsibility for the
management of trees in the following areas of council owned
land.
We have a Tree Management Policy and are responsible for some
woodlands in the
borough.
We are not responsible for trees in the following areas:

We work in partnership with the following
Organisations and Groups on tree related projects
- Kentish Stour Countryside Project (KSCP)
- Kent Wildlife Trust (KWT)
- Ashford Community Woodland Group
- Stour Valley Arts Project
- British Trust for Conservation Volunteers (BTCV)
We support the BTCV’S Tree
Warden Scheme and fund a Free Tree Scheme within the Borough
to provide young trees to plant on Parish Land, School Grounds, and
Public Open Space or other land which will provide benefit to the
public.
We have also supported the Ashford Veteran
Tree Initiative.

To find out if a tree is protected by
a Tree Preservation Order or in a conservation area, please contact
01233 331111 before work commences.
The majority of trees adjacent to the highway are the
responsibility of Kent County Council Highway Services who can be
contacted on 08458 247800.
