Community Safety
We play a key role in
ensuring our residents enjoy a good quality of life by reducing
fear of crime and ensuring our communities are safe places.
In the following pages you can find information on a range of
services offered by us and our partners, ranging from from
antisocial behaviour, crime prevention, fire safety, victim support
and how to report a crime.
That includes our award-winning Community Safety Unit - a partnership
between the council, Kent Police, Kent Fire and Rescue Service and
other agencies to reduce crime, fear of crime and antisocial
behaviour.
You can also find out more about CCTV and Telecare (Lifeline) the computerised alert
system that provides independent living and safe working for
thousands of people across the borough.
Take part in our online questionnaire
The survey asks you about your experiences of
crime and antisocial behaviour, ranging from vandalism and graffiti
to noise and burglary.
It will take no more than five minutes to
complete our online crime questionnaire. and the results
are useful to the Community Safety Unit because they provide a
snapshot of public perceptions of crime in the borough and
highlight areas where action is needed.
