Personal Safety
Personal Safety affects us all, whatever age, sex or race.
Below are some suggestions on how you can protect yourself and your
belongings:
- Be aware of your surroundings
- Keep items such as wallets, purses, mobile phones, IPods out of
sight and secure
- Don’t advertise that you have lots of money, a chequebook, and
credit cards with you; if you don't need them don't take
them
- When out drinking, don’t leave your drink unattended: use
spikeys or alcotops which can be purchased from most bars and
supermarkets.
- Property mark your possessions so that they can easily be
returned if lost or found by the Police.
- If you travel by taxi, especially late at night, then you
should use officially registered Taxis or Private Hire
Companies. Do not consider getting into just any vehicle
waiting outside a venue.
- Carry a personal alarm if out on your own
