Sport and Play
There are many sports and
physical activities available in the borough and we are keen to
encourage people to live a fit and healthy lifestyle. We
work in partnership with various organisations in delivering
sporting opportunities for all, offering support, advice
and guidance for individuals and local sports clubs.
Whether its bowls,
golf or general
fitness we have lots on
offer. You can also find out about clubs, disability sport, facilities and sports initiatives, and we also have information
about our play areas
for you to check out.

Do you Lead or Assist with a Sports
or Physical Activity Session?
If your answer is yes, then we need your help. We are
putting together a database of all those who coach, teach, lead,
and assist with sports or physical activity sessions in the
borough. We want to identify where the gaps
are in coaching provision in Ashford as well as opportunities
for the professional development of those who lead sessions.
If you would like to help us with our survey, please contact
Simon Harris on 01233
330232 and he will send you a questionnaire.

Survey
A questionnaire designed to look at all aspects of local sports
provision was sent out to all the clubs in Ashford. One
hundred and seventy questionnaires were sent out in January with a
20% response so far. We are already working closely with
these clubs in terms of Clubmark and funding and development
plans.
The sports officers are putting together a comprehensive Sports
Directory of all Ashford's sports clubs, but we need your
help! For more information on how to get involved,
please contact Simon Harris on 01233
330232.
