Ashford Telecare is a computerised alert system that
provides independent living and safe working.
Anyone can benefit from Telecare technology not just
people who are elderly, infirm or vulnerable.
Telecare improves lives by allowing people to live independently
in their own homes with the reassurance that help is at hand at the
touch of a button 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
How does it work?
Users are issued with a Lifeline unit which plugs into a power
socket and a telephone point. By pressing a simple button on
the Lifeline unit or sensors which you can wear on a pendant or a
wrist-strap an alarm signal is sent through the telephone
line to Ashford Borough Council’s 24-hour Monitoring Centre,
where trained staff are ready to help.
They can contact family, friends, care or medical agencies
and a range of emergency response services according to
procedures requested by the client.
What do you get?
The basic package consists of a Lifeline unit and emergency
sensor on a pendant .
We can also provide a range of other sensors and
alarms including:
- Smoke detectors
- Bogus caller alarm
- Intruder alarm
- Flood detector
- Carbon Monoxide detectors

Lone Workers
Telecare also offers a Lone Worker system which offers
security for employees working alone in vulnerable situations and
peace-of-mind to employers and works through the user's mobile
telephone to activate an emergency call if workers fail to check in
at set times.
This service is also perfect for youngsters out and about , in
fact anyone, any where, any time.

Telecare Emergency Card
Another service provided by Ashford Borough Council’s
Monitoring Centre is the Telecare Emergency Card which can provide
peace of mind in an emergency.

Ashford Monitoring Centre
Ashford Borough Council's Monitoring Centre is state of the
art facility offering:
- Telecare services including Lifeline and Loneworker
monitoring
- CCTV monitoring
- Home and commercial security solutions
- Duty Officer Services
The centre is fully accredited by the National
Security Inspectorate and the Telecare Service Association with
fully trained and licensed staff.
