Ashford Carnival
Ashford
Carnival will take place on Sunday 13 July. The streets of Ashford
will be pulsating with the sounds and sights of the annual
event.
Entries are already coming in and 2008 looks set to be the
biggest and most spectacular carnival in a long time. Set up and
judging takes place at Stanhope at 4pm, with the procession
commencing at 5pm.
The route will include:
- Stanhope Road
- Kingsnorth Road
- Beaver Road
- Elwick Road
- Bank Street
- High Street
- Lower High Street
- Station Road
- Tannery Lane – ending in North Park
To get you in the mood, there will be the added attraction with
a carnival atmosphere in the town centre with live music from
“Where’s Brian and Friends” and free entertainment throughout the
day.
Just some of the entries received to date include: Emma-Lou's
Dance Troupe; Moat Housing Association; 1st Willesborough Brownies;
Shunen Jutsu Karate Club; Sure Start Ashford; Kent Fire and Rescue;
and of course a host of Queens and Princesses from Carnival Courts
around the County.
