Herald Topping Out Ceremony
Quadrant Estates today
marked the occasion of an important milestone at Eureka Park in
Ashford with a Topping Out ceremony on the roof of the newest phase
of offices, Herald.
With construction of this speculative office building now well
underway, a celebratory event took place in the presence of
representatives from Ashford Borough Council, Ashford’s Future and
Kent County Council.
This new headquarter office building is being constructed by
Verry Construction and is expected to be complete and ready for
occupation by the end of 2008.
Herald is a spectacular 35,725 sq ft glass building developed by
Quadrant Estates, forming the second phase of offices at Eureka
Park in this designated area for growth.
The new offices both at Herald, and the Park’s first phase,
Northdown, completed last year, are helping the town reach its
employment targets of 28,000 new jobs by 2031 as part of its growth
plans. Northdown has been very well received by local and regional
occupiers with 97% of the space now committed.
Whilst on site, guests were also able to view the progress
elsewhere at the Park at nearby Eureka Place, comprising of retail
and amenity space and includes a children’s day nursery, family pub
restaurant and a medical centre over 33,000 sq ft.
Eureka Park has already catalysed the office market in Ashford
and the M20 corridor in creating one of the South East’s important
new business destinations. The Park is located close to the new
High Speed rail link and is soon to be 37 minutes from London St
Pancras, London.
Cllr Paul Clokie, Leader of Ashford Borough Council and Chair of
the Ashford’s Future Partnership Board, said: “It is tremendous to
see this development really taking shape. The success of Northdown
has been superb news for Ashford’s economy.
"It is crucial that we ensure well-planned offices with good
community facilities like this scheme are provided and the new
Herald offices will continue to play a large part in delivering
jobs required as part of our growth plans.”
Tristram Gethin, Director of Quadrant Estates, added: “The
demand we have seen for occupancy at Northdown has confirmed
Ashford’s potential as a significant business location.
"Herald will provide further much needed office stock in the
area which will in turn enhance the long-term economic advantages
for Ashford though creating a number of new job opportunities for
local residents”.
