Thousands see future plans
Ashford
residents came in their droves to learn more about what is
happening in their town at a special three-day event in the town
centre held last week.
The town’s regeneration into a vibrant, exciting place to live
and work is going from strength to strength, and residents can
expect some big changes to the area as several longed-for projects
get underway in the coming months.
To show how Ashford is evolving, Ashford’s Future held a public
exhibition in County Square Shopping Centre on Thursday 18th,
Friday 19th and Saturday 20th of June from 9am to 6pm.
Attractions included the stunning Ashford model, a new model of
the new Hitachi bullet train, the Ashford film Opportunity Ashford,
up to date details on major projects taking place up to 2011, and a
competition to win tickets on the new high speed rail service to
London St Pancras.
Representatives from Ashford’s Future and
Ashford Borough Council were on hand to explain the plans for the
town, and give information about the future vision for the town
centre.
Judith Armitt, Managing Director of Ashford’s Future, said:
“Ashford is a fast evolving town with many exciting developments
and changes happening across the borough.
“With so many exciting developments underway across the borough,
we understand the importance of keeping residents up to date with
what is going on in their town.
“This event provided an opportunity for them to learn about
future plans, and to see how the vision for Ashford is rapidly
becoming a tangible reality.”
