Ashford Borough Council’s Planning Committee has backed plans for a Waitrose supermarket to be built on the former Templer Barracks site, meaning more choice for Ashford residents in terms of food and retail shopping and more new jobs for the town.
The new-look Bank Street re-opened to traffic at the beginning of August and is the first phase of Ashford’s shared space area to be completed. The work started last year in September on the drive to establish Ashford as one of the best places in Britain to live, work and play.

Ashford Borough Council’s Executive has backed plans for a new junction on the M20 motorway which will reduce congestion and support the future growth of the town. The Executive agreed in principle to support the Highways Agency’s preferred option for the proposed new M20 Junction 10a.
