Background to preparation of the Wye Neighbourhood Plan

Following the submission of the Wye Neighbourhood Plan to Ashford Borough Council, the plan was publicised, representations were invited and an independent examiner appointed. The independent examiner’s report concluded that, subject to making the modifications recommended, the plan met the basic conditions set out in the legislation and should proceed to a neighbourhood planning referendum.

The Neighbourhood Plan (amended in line with the examiner’s proposed modifications) was the subject of a referendum held on Thursday 8 September 2016. 94.72% of those who voted were in favour of the Neighbourhood Plan.
