Submitting an Application
Submitting Applications Online
Applications can be submitted
online via the Planning Portal website by completing the
following steps:
- Register and login to the Planning Portal
- Create a new proposal
- Complete the online form
- Buy a site location plan and mark your site electronically
- Attach associated supporting information including
detailed drawings, design and access statement and photographs
(see our Is Your Application Valid? webpage for more
information about what you must include)
- Calculate and pay a fee
- Click submit

Sending Paper Applications
Select, download and print the appropriate forms from the
Application Forms and Guidance webpage or
collect them from the Council offices
- Complete the appropriate forms
- Put the form, the validation checklist and any additional
information into an envelope - see our Is Your
Application Valid? webpage for more information about what you
must include
- Cheque or postal order made payable to Ashford Borough
Council
- Post it to: Planning and Development, Ashford Borough Council,
Civic Centre, Tannery Lane, Ashford TN23 1PL
Support and Advice
We can provide advice on whether or not planning permission is
likely to be granted and what information is needed to be submitted
with an application. In some cases we charge for this service. More
