Site Inspections

Site inspections are required at a number of different stages which follow the general construction process.

Building work will need to be inspected at the following stages:

  • Commencement
  • Excavation of foundations and/or Ttial Holes
  • Oversite (the hardcore materials before oversite concrete is laid)
  • Drains in place prior to backfilling
  • Drains backfilled and placed on test ready for inspection
  • Occupation
  • Completion

Additional inspections are also undertaken dependent upon the scale and complexity of the building work proposed. These may include, but are not restricted to:

  • First floor level
  • Roof construction
  • Sound insulation
  • Thermal insulation to walls, ashlars and first floors
  • Roof insulation
  • Structural beams and frames
  • Fire protection to walls, floors and beams

Inspections can be requested using the online request an inspection form or by contacting your area surveyor or the office on 01233 330282.

Inspection requests made by 10am will be carried out on the same day. If you require a timed visit then you are advised to speak to the surveyor directly.
