Core Strategy
The Core Strategy sets out the overall vision and
objectives for the delivery of Ashford's Local Development
Framework between 2006 and 2021. The Core Strategy is the
principle Development Plan Document (DPD) for the Borough and all
other documents within the Local Development Framework (LDF) must
conform to it.
The Core Strategy was adopted by the Council on the 10 July
2008.
Hard copies of the Adopted Core Strategy (July 2008) are
available to purchase at a charge of £15 plus £2.50 for postage and
packaging for local residents and £20 plus £2.50 for postage
and packaging for businesses. To order copies please use the

Adoption Statements
We are required to produce the following statements as part of
the Town and Country Planning (Local Development) (England)
Regulations 2004.
Further Information
Examination
All Core Strategies are independently examined to make sure they
are sound before they can be adopted. Ashford submitted the
Boroughs Core Strategy to the Secretary of State for independent
examination on 3 November 2006. Examination hearings were held
between 19 June and 16 November 2007.
