Interior Alterations
Many interior alterations may also require Listed Building
Consent. This requirement covers removal of and alteration to all
features of historic value and may include:
- Fireplaces
- Doors
- Room arrangements
- Staircases
- Panelling
- Wood and plasterwork
All works to a listed building, whether repairs or alterations,
require a high standard of craftsmanship and professional skill. In
view of this, the appointment of a suitably qualified architect and
other specialists is to be recommended.
Please contact the Conservation Officer on 01233 330 729 if you
are not sure as to whether you require Listed Building Consent for
specific works.
