Security advice for event organisers

In light of recent attacks at events across Europe in crowded places, the South East Counter Terrorism Unit (SECTU) has produced an event guidance document for event organisers to help you understand what can be done to improve safety at events and decrease the likelihood of any attack.

SECTU event guidance January 2017 [pdf] 675KB

This guidance includes advice on protecting your event from a vehicle being used as a weapon, instructions on what to do if you find a suspicious package at your event and points to consider in an event plan.

If you have any queries concerning this, the guidance contains links to other organisations that can help you or please contact the Safety Advisory Group on 01233 330271 for general information.
