Amendment 7, 2016 (Ashford, Hothfield, Kenardington, Mersham and Tenterden)

This Order is an Amendment to The Kent County Council (Various Roads, Borough of Ashford) (Waiting Restrictions and Street Parking Places) Consolidation Order 2016 (as amended). The tables below outline the changes proposed under Amendment 7 (AM7).

N.B. These amendments were recommended by the elected members of the Joint Transportation Board March 2017, or by Cabinet decision.

Bank Street (upper) Removal of parking charges relating to designated parking bays
Cuckoo Lane Introduction of double yellow lines to prevent obstructive parking
Cypress Avenue Introduction of double yellow lines at its junction with Loudon Way, to prevent obstructive parking
Grosvenor Road Introduction of disabled persons parking bay and amendment of existing no waiting restriction
High Street (Lower) Removal of parking charges relating to designated parking bays
Loudon Way Introduction of double yellow lines at its junction with Cypress Avenue and Springwood Drive, to prevent obstructive parking
North Street Removal of parking charges relating to designated parking bays
Park Street Removal of parking charges relating to designated parking bays
Springwood Drive Introduction of double yellow lines at its junction with Loudon Way, to prevent obstructive parking

 

In the village of Hothfield
Street Proposed changes
A20 (Maidstone Road) Introduction of double yellow lines at its junction with Chapel Road, to prevent obstructive parking
Chapel Road Introduction of double yellow lines at its junction with A20 (Maidstone Road), to prevent obstructive parking

 

In the village of Kenardington

The Wish Introduction of double yellow lines to prevent obstructive parking

 

In the town of Tenterden

Marshalls Land Introduction of double yellow lines to prevent obstructive parking

 

In the village of Mersham*

Glebelands Introduction of double yellow lines on western side between Kingsford Street and Glebelands parking area

Bus stop clearways

It is also intended to introduce enforceable Bus Stop Clearways which will not form part of the above order at existing bus stops in Ashford in the following locations:

In the town of Ashford
Street Bus stop clearway location
Loudon Way On the northern side opposite junction with Cypress Avenue

A copy of the proposed Order and supporting documents may be inspected online or in hard copy format at the Civic Centre, Tannery Lane, Ashford TN23 1PL between 9am and 3.45pm, Monday to Friday, and at Tenterden Town Hall, High Street, Tenterden TN30 6AN between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.

A copy of the proposed Order will also be available at the main reception of Sessions House, Maidstone, Kent ME14 1XQ between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday.

Consultation reference

Please include your ddress details, stating the clearway location concerned and quoting reference “Loudon Way/BusCW” by no later than 1 June 2017.

Please note, as mentioned above, that the installation of a bus stop clearway will not be part of the Order that is to be amended. Bus stop clearways are regulated separately.

The statutory consultation period for this amendment closes at midnight on 1 June 2017.
