Tenterden Parking

On-street parking in Tenterden town centre

There are a number of free parking bays in the town centre which are subject to prohibitions and restrictions. Most of these are restricted between 8am and 6pm Monday to Saturday (when parking, please check the signs relating to the particular bay or set of bays).

Please note that most bays are subject to a maximum stay of one hour during the day (again, please refer to signs when parking).

There are also a number of designated disabled bays on the High Street, with a maximum limit of three hours for each stay, to increase the number of blue badge holders that might use the bays during the day.

The discrete area of the car park which is located opposite Ivy Court Surgery may be used free, for up to one hour, by patients attending appointments and collecting prescriptions in Ivy Court Surgery.

This is a public car park. Bays are not designated solely for the use of patients.

Patients are obliged to obtain a ticket from the machine and display this in the vehicle, in order to show the arrival time. Information is shown on the machine. A free ticket, for one hour, needs to be displayed in the vehicle.

In all other respects surgery patients need to follow the car park rules, such as displaying a disabled badge if they park in a designated disabled bay.

Clear advice is given to patients on the notice board indicated.

Pay by mobile phone - cashless parking

Drivers use their mobile phone to pay for parking in all off-street and on-street pay and display spaces in Ashford and Tenterden, with Parkmobile.

To use the service, register your details with Parkmobile either:

When you register you will be asked for your credit or debit card details and your vehicle registration number (you can register more than one vehicle).

Once registered, you call the Parkmobile phone number (or use the mobile app) and key in your location number – both displayed on the pay and display machines. You start your session when parked and stop it on your return, subject to the maximum period permitted.

Civil Enforcement Officers (CEOs) make sure a driver has paid for his or her parking by accessing Parkmobile’s database through their GPRS enabled hand held device. They are then able to obtain your parking information by your vehicle registration number.

For full details of the service, including guidelines and terms and conditions, visit www.parkmobile.co.uk.

You can still pay by cash if you wish; pay and display machines will continue to operate.
