Residents Survey 2014
In the summer of 2014, Ashford Borough Council commissioned Lake Market Research to undertake a borough-wide research engagement with residents to:
- Gain a broad understanding of residents’ perceptions on those services currently provided by Ashford Borough Council
- Incorporate more focused questioning to understand the priorities residents would like to see Ashford Borough Council focus on in the coming years
- Measure how perceptions differ across different community groups
The survey was conducted by Lake Market Research during July and August 2014.
Understanding resident opinion is a key component of assessing the effectiveness of a local authority, alongside costs and performance information. Furthermore, understanding resident satisfaction and being able to make informed comparisons can strengthen local accountability and be key to managing a council’s own performance.
